Revit objects for designers

Free Revit components to make your everyday work easier

ProdLib is a simple Revit add-on that helps users to manage, configure and use Revit families in an easy way.

  • Find thousands of free BIM objects: Revit window families, kitchen RFA files and much more
  • Objects also for structural engineers: you can find items like anchor bolts, connectors, and corbels
  • Support for at least the three latest versions: Revit, 2022, Revit 2021, Revit 2020, and Revit 2019. Support for newest version will be published shortly after the official Revit version is released.

The ProdLib platform consists of product libraries that contain thousands of free BIM objects and RFA families, product information and other files. The user can download Revit family libraries, browse Revit components, and configure the available parameters of each product. Once the properties are set, the product can be added directly to the desired Revit project.

ProdLib is an extension for Revit that can be used within any Revit version later than 2016 (except for Revit LT). It’s also possible to use ProdLib in several Revit versions with the single installation. Downloading and using ProdLib is totally free of charge.

Revit LT users can download Revit objects from our web-based tool WebLib.

The installation and usage process in short:

Run the installation

Launch ProdLib Manager
Download Revit family libraries from different manufacturers
Open Revit. ProdLib can be found from the top ribbon
Open the desired library, choose the right object, and click Insert

For more detailed installation instructions, please read the User’s Manual.

After the installation, a new tab “ProdLib” will appear on the Revit top ribbon. From this tab, you will find all downloaded BIM libraries. You can launch the libraries simply by clicking the required manufacturer.

You can browse between available products and selections. You can modify product parameters to find the perfect solution. After setting the properties, click “insert” and the object will open in your Revit project.

select content from library and required parameters and insert into your revit project

None of the Revit families or content is loaded to your project before you insert them from the ProdLib interface. This will ensure that the file size of your project or project template doesn’t grow unnecessarily.

content inserted from ProdLib to revit

Most of the content on ProdLib libraries are manufacturer-specific. They are created natively for Revit based on requirements of the manufacturers. In addition, there can also be found some generic content, e.g. in ProdLib Structural you can find typical beam and columns of Steel, Concrete and Timber.

Additionally, in the ProdLib ribbon there are functions called ProdLib My Library and ProdLib BuildUp.

ProdLib My Library is an additional functionality for organizing your own files into an easy-to-use library.

ProdLib BuildUp is a tool for helping users to create and manage walls, floors, and roofs. All the materials and pre-defined BuildUps are based on actual, validated and up-to-date material information. More information of BuildUp can be found here.

Content management

One of the main features of ProdLib Revit extension is the background functionality ensuring that the latest product data and content is always available for architects and engineers. When connected to internet, the application checks regularly that the latest version of the content is in use. If there’s an update available, it’s clearly indicated to the user.

Once the BIM object libraries have been downloaded, they can be used even in the offline mode.

If the installation requires administrative rights, users can still manage existing libraries or download new ones without the administrative rights.
