Support for other CAD software by dragging and dropping content from ProdLib.
ProdLib is a platform for distributing product information libraries for architects and structural engineers. After installing the ProdLib software, you can download and manage individual libraries from within the platform.
The libraries contain product information, documentation, BIM and CAD models and other files for AutoCAD, Revit and Archicad – all organized and up to date.
By using ProdLib you agree to the End-user License Agreement.
Our privacy policy guarantees we handle your information responsibly.
Description of the file describes our data register per the Personal Data Act (523/1999) section 10 and 24§.
When using a centralized data storage, some designated persons in the organization are responsible for installing and updating ProdLib libraries to a shared network location. All other users are using the ProdLib client, which retrieves all the files from the shared location. This provides companies with the possibility to keep all ProdLib libraries stored on a server instead of having all libraries synchronized to each client.
Read/write access for all users
Clients are configured to use the centralized data storage by adding the ClientSettings.xml file to ProdLib binary folder.
Typically the path to the binary folder is
C:\\ProgramData\\Autodesk\\ApplicationPlugins\\ProdLib.bundle\\
The content of the ClientSettings.xml file should be as follows:
<?xml version=”1.0” standalone=”yes”?> <ClientSettings> <Singles> <UseCentralizedDataPath>true</UseCentralizedDataPath> <CentralizedDataPath>\\machinename\sharename</CentralizedDataPath> </Singles> </ClientSettings>
Creating the ClientSettings.xml file in the ProdLib binary folder requires write permissions.
The BIM manager uses ProdLib to install and update libraries through Library Manager just like any user would do without the centralized data storage in use. The only thing that needs to be done is to tell the Library Manager where to download the libraries to. That can be specified by adding a data_path string value to registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ProdLib\ProdLib]
“data_path”=”\\machinename\sharename”
Note: All users must have write and read permission to the Shared Network Location.
